FasHUN FEST!

2014-04-08-festivalThe festival season is upon us all over Europe, and every festival Fashionista is having the same sleepless nights over what to wear, here's my guide too mastering the festival look without looking like everyone else, My 20 festival essentials and My Future festival fantasies:

Before I Start here's a reminder of why we're here:

I've partied and worked at a few festivals over the last 3 years, and its definitely where I've gained the best memories and experiences in my life time .. But I'd have to say my favourite part of it all is dressing up you can literally go crazy and explore and express your self in clothes you wouldn't normally wear on a day to day basis.

I always like to mix it up with my style when I'm at a festival and not go for the same look over the 2-3 days your there. Here I've decided to show you through my three looks of V'FEST 2013!

HAIRSPIRATION!
I decided to dye my hair lavender/purple for V'Fest! I used crazy colours semi permanent Hair colour, I highly recommend it as it doesn't ruin your hair and they have so many amazing colours on their website to choose from, I think I'm going to go for silver hair this year, (keep your eye out).

www.vividhaircolour.com

My inspiration for this look was Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen if anyone can work the festival style on a day to day basis its these two they literally ooze bohemian coolness.

Outcome...

THE FESTIVAL WARDROBE!

OUTFIT 1:

Starting with last year at V'Fest on the Friday night (when nothing is usually happening) I went pretty casual with a pair of denim Levi shorts a yellow and white Ralph Lauren chequered shirt paired with some white Reebok classics which surprisingly stayed clean, not your typical festival vibe but I liked the outcome ...

My inspiration for this look was this Pamela Anderson photo I came across on Tumblr, I just loved the casual edge of the photo, my outfit would of looked so much better with my original hair colour blonde though.

OUTFIT 2:

On the Saturday I decided to work with the purple hair and go with a Gothic look
I wore a Ragged Priest dress and shortened it by tying it up with a bobble, black flower crown from Primark and plain black Chelsea boots instead of the normal choice of footwear (wellies)! I loved channelling my inner Goth for the day ...

Above is a cheeky snap of me and my fellow Huns looking funkayyyy in their festival get ups!

My inspiration for this look is one of the festival fashion queens Vanessa Hudgens, I loved the Gothic vibe she gave off with this look, however I went one step further and dyed my hair purple and the heels would be a big NO NO at a festival.

OUTFIT 3:

For the Sunday I went for a more vintage approach with denim Levi's vintage bohemian style kimono with a gold leather flower crown and gold vintage Italian heeled sandals (which I can't find a photo of),Just a WARNING this day I had severely mucky feet by the end of the day, maybe I should stop trying to be too different and stick to wellie's next time for the sake of warm clean tootsie's and especially if the festival is in the wet UK!

This outfit was based on more inspiration from the Amazing Olsen twins and their perfected Quirky bohemian style, along with a very good vintage quote.

So That's my 3 Day Festival outfit looks covered.
I haven't itemised everything I've wore as this was last year and they're probably not available to buy any more, but feel free to ask me any questions, I'm sure I can guide you to something similar.

MY TOP 20 FESTIVAL ESSENTIALS!

Everyone needs to make a list of their festival essentials when it comes to slumming it in the outdoors for the weekend here's my list of essentials to get you through it:

1. Face wipes is a must!!!

MY FESTIVAL FANTASIES:

If I'm honest there is so many I would like to go to I love travelling and I think Europe does it best when it comes to festivals so much effort goes into them and they have so much more culture and cool vibes about them.

I would love to go to BESTIVAL in the Isle of Wright, TOMORROWLAND in Belgium, SONAR in Barcelona, GLASTONBURY in the UK, and if I was to venture out of Europe it would be to COACHELLA in LA, that's Definitely one for the bucket list.

All these festivals offer different types of experiences and very different types of music genres where as V Fest etc. tend to stick to similar types of mainstream acts, I love trying different things and exploring so to visit even one of these festivals would be a dream come true.

Here's a link to the to some of the best European festivals around:

Hunz in the audience of The Hello Ross show on Channel E!

We got tickets to be in the audience for hello ross on channel E! Ross it's like the American version of our Alan Carr Chatty man, the guest was Tori Spelling famous from the old series of 90210 and saved by the bell!

It was the best experience ever if your ever in LA look up for free tickets on
http://www.tvtickets.com/fmi/xsl/shows/recordlist.xsl there's also other websites where you can be in the audience for the Big Bang theory etc!

On the red carpet .. I'm wearing a two piece pink an nude suit from river island with white office boat shoes white primark bag and belt, Casey's wearing a cream floaty fringed topshop dress with an embellished Zara belt, tan primark sandals and a primark pearl necklace. (Sorry my eyes are closed)

Casey got asked to ask Tori a question which was if you could have any one to play you in a film about your life who would it be? She replied with Chelsea Handler (from The Chelsea Lately show) pretty crappy answer I suppose!

Here's a picture someone took back home in England whilst they was watching on sky! ( so random)

SPOT THE HUNZ (again) this is one of the pictures promoting his show, as he was nominated for an award for, you don't realise how much work goes into filming a show, I would love to work in this environment every day so much fun!

The Hunz in Hollywood!

I'm going to be doing a few posts on this trip!

One miserable Saturday I was working and decided to enter a competition on KEY 103 which was to win a trip to LA, for 5 days everything paid for, $500 spending money, fast track tickets to Universal Studios and a guided tour around the Hollywood Hills Homes .... and guess what I won!!!! I couldn't believe it, it was probably almost the same feeling as winning the lottery, the sad news is I could only take one friend with me which was really hard because we go everywhere together (HUNPACK) but we came to the decision that it made sense that my best friend Casey who would of been the only one who would be 21 at the time should come with me, due to America's 21 to drink rule and obviously we wanted to party in LA!

Here we go we flew from Manchester to London Heathrow to LAX, it took 17 hours of airport time but trust me it was worth all the nasty plane food in the world! LAX- LHR (we bought these name tags for our suitcases from Kitson)

WE MADE IT! We stayed at The ANdAZ on sunset boulevard, famous for holding parties for the Rolling Stones and other big bands way back when, more famous in my eyes for when Kendall Jenner had her sweet 16th here, you can see it aired on the old Keeping up with the Kardashians! P.s Johnny Depp's house was literally right behind our hotel in the Hollywood Hills!

Here's the view from our room, some of the Hollywood Hills (oh to be a millionaire)

Here's me on the rooftop pool of our hotel, below is our pool and below that is me an Casey doing a selfie of our view, Casey wearing Ray Ban aviators and Me with Gold River Island sunglasses, also known as my (Willy Wonka's)

I'm gonna start with all our nights out and introduce the days out later on ...

Our first night out we first went to a Dtrkt for a be you campaign for a few drinks and got to meet Karruche also famous for being Chris Browns girlfriend!

After we went to SKY bar for more pre drinks where we got to sip drinks round the pool and look at the beautiful Hollywood at night.

We then carried onto SupperClub LA got ourselves into VIP luckily the bouncer was from England, the club is full of white beds surrounding the dance floor, with dancers swinging from the roof pouring champagne it's just another world.

SPOT THE HUNZ!

For all this night, I wore an oriental mesh themed co-ord from Zara with nude heeled sandals a triple chain from new look and a nude Lilly mulberry bag.

Casey wore a houndstooth co-ord from Forever 21 with black river island platform heels and a black zara belt and bag!

Our second night out we was lucky enough to get a table in The Ivy, a famous celebrity hotspot!

It's decorated everywhere with lovely fresh flowers an fairy lights very countrified theme ... I love this picture of Casey with the beautiful view of outside!

Later on we went to a Guess fragrance Launch party at Greystone Manor another celebrity hotspot for people like Drake and The Kardashians, we had the best night brilliant atmosphere and got a table right behind the Dj booth. Highly recommend it for one of the best nightclubs in Hollywood!

I wore a red playsuit which looks like a backless dress from the Rihanna for River Island collection with a black and gold Moschino waist belt, gold peep toe platforms from Miss Selfridge and a Miu Miu clutch bag, with a gold plated choker from Zara and Marc Jacobs black and gold watch

Casey wore a black Zara playsuit with a peplum studded Zara waist belt, with a triple gold chain, black River Island platforms and black Zara clutch.

Now starting with our days in LA, we had fast track tickets to Universal Studios Hollywood, to say we didn't have long in LA it wasn't vital we went but we did really enjoy it, got to see behind the scenes of where they shoot all major tv shows and got on set of the desperate housewives hysteria lane the set of whoville from The grinch and the film set from The Transofrmers where they bought and smashed up a real life plane ... BEWARE of the mummy ride we was not expecting the droppppppp!!

We had breakfast one morning at The Chateau Marmont hotel on sunset boulevard, hoping to see some celebrities but unfortunatley we never seen any, you need to look up this hotels celebrity history so interesting, I watched a documentary on the plane home about it and was hooked from start to finish!

The food is very pricey an not your average English breakfast we went for the breakfast burrito and it was to spicy for my liking but the experience in going itself is worth the cost!

One day we headed roughly 40 mins out of Hollywood to Santa Monica where we did a bit of shopping up the main high street went to Santa Monica Pier and watched the sunset over the beach the skyline was unreal!

We then got a taxi further up to Venice beach, sadly we got there at night so didn't get to see it in its full potential with all the men on muscle beach and people rollerblading up the beachfront but we're still glad we went and got some dinner whilst we was there!

We also went shopping at The Grove, The Galleria, Melrose avenue, Rodeo Drive and the Beverley Centre all places you must go and see an shop there whilst your in LA!

We did a guided tour of the hills with starlinetours.com  we got to see all the celebrity homes from David Beckham, Justin Timberlake and the late Michael Jackson's and many many more here's one of hundreds of pictures we took from the tour, I'd recommend you travel with the open top bus as it gets to hot being trapped inside with the crazy heat in the normal mini buses ...

View from behind the wheel, driving through Beverley hills.

The driver took us to a point where we could see LA high up also know as San Fernando valley.

We got a taxi up to the closet point we could get to the famous Hollywood sign I think it cost us about $35 but it was worth it you can't go to hollywood and not get your photo taken with it! However it did say on a sign we was trespassing but no one said anything (naughty hunz)

Here I'm wearing a dress from the
Glamorous collection from Mamps boutique, and office white boat shoes!

Here I am on the Hollywood walk of fame with the olsens twins star, love this picture!

Here I'm wearing a green pleated long skirt from a vintage shop in Manchester a cream backless waistcoat style top from wallis, my nude Lilly mulberry bag, cream now from Enola rose and gold plated zara choker.
